The first ever event of the Canadian Indoor Racing Championship Series was held on January 14 and 15, 2005 in London, Ontario. Featured were the Lucas Oil Can-Am TQ midgets, the Senior Micro Sprints, and the Outlaw Sprints.
Here are some views I took pitside of the TQs. As you can see, space was at a premium in the pits. Even with just 11 midgets present, there was very little room for crews to work on the cars. However, those 11 cars provided a full field on the tight indoor track, with plenty of action, including 3 wide racing at one point in the feature.
The TQ feature was won by Andy Mackereth, with Dan Lamers taking the Outlaw Sprint feature, and Jamie Cox taking the Micro Kart feature.
All in all, a very enjoyable show. The promoters did a great job under somewhat trying conditions. I hope they can find a way to return bigger and better next year.
