FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE "In a race like Molson Indy everything needs to go perfect and our luck ran out. " July 10, 2005 Toronto, ON - Team Fastline drivers Jeff and Jim Lapcevich encountered problems last weekend at the 20th Anniversary running of the Molson Indy, finishing 15th and 29th respectably in the Tim Hortons - EMCEA Transport Chevrolet Monte Carlos in Sunday's CASCAR Super Series ATTO 100 at the Molson Indy 11-turn, 2.824 km street circuit in Toronto. "It was just not our weekend and wasn't meant to be I guess," stated Jeff Lapcevich. "After Jimmy dropped out we were running strong until we had a tire go down. In a race like Molson Indy everything needs to go perfect and our luck ran out. " Jeff Lapcevich was able to win the Goodyear Belts & Hoses Fastest Lap of the race at Molson Indy. Kerry Micks won the ATTO 100 followed by Peter Gibbons in second and Don Thomson Jr. in third as the CASCAR Super Series made its seventh consecutive appearance, part of the 20th Anniversary edition of the Molson Indy on the temporary road circuit at Exhibition Place in Toronto. "Jeff and I were running second and third at one point and it looked like it would be our day until we encountered a transmission problem," said Jim Lapcevich. "It was a disappointing finish in front of our home- town fans, but that's the way it goes. We'll be back stronger than ever next year. " Team Fastline drivers Jeff and Jim Lapcevich currently sit sixth and 13th in the 2005 CASCAR Super Series Points Championship. The next CASCAR Super Series race of the season, the MOPAR 500 Weekend at Race City Motorsport Park, Canada's finest high banked, half-mile oval, will take place July 22-23 in Calgary, Alberta.
